What swaybar brackets to use on 2000 civic dx hacthback????
Ok guys so heres the deal! I bought a 22mm CTR rear swaybar with CTR bushings as brackets. The CTR brackets DO NOT FIT on my 2000 Civic DX hatchback subframe.
So I called up energy suspension and bought their universal kit. The one with the red poly bushyings. The part number is 9.5126R if anyone was interested. Those DO NOT FIT on the subframe as well.
Im just wondering, who is using a CTR rear sway bar on their 96-00 Civics and what brackets and bushings are you using??
I have searched and searched and still cant find the right brackets and bushings!!! People have told me "Oh the CTR brackets work and Oh the universal ones work" but neither of them fit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Sev.

I have the energy suspension brackets on mine with an ASR subframe brace. If you're not running some type of subframe reinforcement your bar has a high chace of tearing your subframe. If you use the ASR brace the Energy brackets fit. Also I dont think the lower model civics even had rear swaybars so that could be why they dont fit, there are no holes there.
Do you have part 30? The bushings don't mount directly to the subframe. They mount to this bracket which is mounted to the subframe. And x2 to what the above poster said. Your subframe will tear out if you don't have an ASR brace or at least a BEAKS kit.

The OP clearly wants to use a CTR bar which is 22mm. Your Si bar is only 13mm. He wants to use the thicker bar to create more rotational oversteer. Your 2 posts in this thread has offered no solutions to his issue.

you have to drill a new hole to mount the brackets on...
i use a beaks kit for more subframe support..

I do have an ASR brace. The holes on the ASR brace are the same as the holes on my car. I just want to know what brackets people are using with a CTR rear swaybar and with an ASR brace is fine too.
Nevermind I figured it out. There is no bracket that works directly on to the 96-00 subframe. You have to use CTR brackets or ES brackets in conjunction with some type of subframe reinforcement like BEAK'S or ASR. So its all on there I put my brace and swaybar on my car.

So from these two statements:

We are all supposed to infer that you meant bushings and brackets? Even so, the size difference between the two bars would indicate that they have different size bushings alone. Look, I'm sorry you misinterpreted my constructive criticism of your postings. I didn't call you any names or use pejoratives in saying that what you said is not helpful. I, like you, want this forum to be a place one can find reliable information. I don't post unless I know the answer or possible solutions to the issues posted.

That 23mm Bracket had to come off a 98 spec ITR. That bracket you used would not fit directly on the 96-00 hatchback subframe. You have to use an ASR Subframe Brace or you could drill holes in the subframe and get a Beak's kit. I would recommend the ASR cause EJ's subframe is thin and weak so drilling is not ideal for it. With a 22mm plus swaybar on the rear it'll give you a piece of mind.
As far as your setup its exactly the same as mine but I am using the ES universal kit with red poly bushings. How do you like yours?? What do you think is better for street driving rubber or poly bushings?
