Default b18b block

i currently have a b16 block with new rings and bearings, almost 3,000 miles on it.. i threw it together for a summer ride..

My question is i want to go LS turbo, when doing a compression calculator i was thinking of putting the b16a2 rods and pistons into the LS block, the compression then would be 8.7:1, i was just wondering if this was done before.

Then if it is possible, would 8.7:1 be too low? because with my type-r head, if i were to go ls/vtec turbo. the compression would raise to 9.01:1

B16 rods won't work in a B18 block.
