Boost issues with BW S360...
Guys
I went to the dyno on friday to do a tune on my new BW S360. This is in my RB26 powered 300ZX
Specs on the turbo as follows:
60mm inducer/83mm exducer
rated at ~68lb/min.
.91 A/R Twinscroll T4 Flange
I'm running on the full-race twin-scroll manifold, with twin 44mm wastegates. The gates have a big blue (.9 bar) and little red (.3) which should give me a base boost of 17psi
After running wastegate pressure on the dyno, we were seeing 19psi or so base boost, but for some reason, I was only able to get ~22psi out of the turbo.
On the dyno, with the BC turned up a little and on hi setting (Greddy Profec S) the boost would actually spike to 27 and fall back to 22 pretty quickly
I'm wondering if I'm reaching a limitation of the turbo (highly unlikely, as this turbo is very similar to a 35R and people are making 600rhwp+ on this turbo) or if I've got something funky going on with my BC or wastegates.
i have verified the BC is hooked correctly to the wastegates (pressure source goes to bottom, BC side goes to top)
I also plan on doing a pull with my IAT logged to see if the turbo is just running out of steam (high AIT's)
FWIW the car was making 530/430 @ 22psi
Any suggestions are appreciated
