B16 internals in LS block.
I've been using the Honda calculator for a while, and I think I got the hang of it.
I have a built B16A2 block with Crower rods, Probe Ind. SRS pistons, ARP hardware, etc.
Due to fundage, or rather... lack thereof, I'm thinking of just sticking those parts in my LS block and having it bored to 81.5mm to suit the pistons I have.
Doing calculating, it seems that if I were to use the B16 crank, It'd have a stupid low compression ratio of 5 something to 1.
Changed the crank from the B16 to the stock LS, and it says it'll be at 8.4:1. Here's the specs from the Compression Calculator:
Static Comp Ratio: 8.41:1
Displacement: 1857.1cc
Rod/Stroke Ratio: 1.51:1
Piston-to-Deck Height: 0.131in
Mean Piston Speed: 1970fps @ 8,000rpm
How's that read out?
Any help would be great, thanks.

Re: B16 internals in LS block.
No, no. It is a B16 block, with built internals. I'm going boost, so I don't really need to bother with VTEC. So I can use the rods and pistons in my LS block, with my LS crank, and according to the Compression Calculator, I should be sitting at 8.4:1 compression.
I do have a 'For Trade' thread on a few forums looking to trade my B16 built block, for a built LS block.

Re: B16 internals in LS block.
I know the rods are shorter. If that only brings the compression down some, I fail to see how that will hurt anything?
I'm not going all motor either.
But if you know someone who would be willing to trade, let me know. Mine is freshly built, so I'd expect the same in trade.
That or we can keep it more simple, and I can just trade my B16 rods and pistons for some LS rods and pistons of equal value.

Re: B16 internals in LS block.
I just don't have the rest of the things I'd need to complete the block. I already have all pieces for my kit, and I just wanted some peace of mind with the bottom end.
So I know they are shorter, but I mean would that even damage anything?

Re: B16 internals in LS block.
yes, you read that correctly. The LS with a B16 crank would not have enough compression to run. Do you know what stroke is? less stroke means the piston won't come up as far in the cylinder. The piston should compress the gasses all the way to the head, with a B16 crank your piston would stop about 8mm short.
