What IACV?
Hey guys,
I'm driving my brothers 1998 Civic hatch with y7 engine and y8 intake mani. He's away so I'm not 100% on some of the things with it. It's idle is fluctuating and needs a new IACV. Only thing is the IACV for the y8 IM comes in two different forms, an auto and manual. How can I tell what IACV is on the car, manual y8 or auto y8?

The car itself is manual. But from my understanding of what I read the IACV could be either manual or automatic. I'm just unsure how to tell which it is.
You might just want to clean it out before buying a new one, and see if it makes any difference.

My brother already had it cleaned out and the mechanic I took it to said it was the IACV itself. It was seized in the wide open position. He was able to get it somewhat closed but it needs to be replaced. I also can't get a hold of that mechanic at the moment as he's away so I can't find out which IACV it was.
I am unable to grab a picture at the moment until the morning. If you guys can give me an idea of what to look for on the IM or IACV to determine whether its the y8 manual or y8 auto that'd probably be best for now. I'm kind of in a weird position, my mother is in the states right now until Monday and I'm hoping I can get her to pick up the part at NAPA there since it's $200 cheaper at NAPA US than NAPA Canada
So the quicker I can figure it out the cheaper it'll be on my wallet and my brothers wallet when he returns lol
