k..so i bought a car from a friend blah blah blah...93 del Sol S with D16Z6..and wont turn over...before i got it, it had a problem with not being able to start...found it had a super burnt cap and rotor = weak spark! was going to buy it but wouldent start agin, dead battary...charged it, and took it to the auto parts store...altenator tested bad...so i bought it. now taged, insured and leagle...it doesent start. battary = good! alt = new, good! starter = good! (i have two) its getting like 11v to starter...but wont turn over. why?????

a fully charged battery is 12.66v for every .1v it decreses by 10% so a battery with 11.66v is discharged. good or not, it doesent have enough amps to turn the starter. does it click when you turn the key or just nothing at all?

well the only click i hear is when i turn the key to turn on the car and nothing happens, and well the battary had been fully carged when i stuck it in...i didnt check the voltage at the starter until i had switched for my other starter, guess it had drained by then, but the starter should crank any way even with less volts shouldent it? even if it is slower?

check the starter relay and fuses then try jump starting. If that doesnt work the check to make sure all wires are connected properly on the alt after you installed the new one. After that I would try taking the starter off and having it checked.

sounds like a relay problem. You should hear a pretty loud click from the starter if it is getting power

well the first time after i bought the car when it wouldent start i tried jump starting it, nothing....checked all fuses in dash and in engine bay, nothing...i had checked the alt if i left out anything but its good...and starter relay? where? and how could that be the cause if i was geting power to the starter, each time i hit the key

and when i hit the key i do hear a loud click, but im pretty sure its from the main relay under the dash...but fuel i dont think has anything to do with it, because it doesent turn over at all, so i cant light it lol

the starter is on the tranny. Spins the flywheel to get it started. getting power to it is part 1 but if the starter is bad it wont do anything, They are cheap and best of all can be taken out easy and tested at a local napa or advance

the original starter the car came with me and the old owner of the car took it off and tested it at an oreillys, it tested good, 3 times streight, and the other starter i have is one i got from a freinds z6 that got swaped out...and when he had the car running it never had a problem starting so i didnt bother to check it

thats a tough one but thats where I would start. Have it tested its nice and easy to remove atleast that would eliminate one thing. If that tests good and you are receiving power to the accesories when you power it I am not sure on what it could be. I know I had a starter relay that looked good but when I swapped it with the a.c one the a/c didnt work but the car started so I managed to figure it out easily

yeah this car is pissing me off fast! well like i said i tested the one of the two and had geen lights that said pass at the auto parts, and the other one hasent been more than a week since it got swaped out at my house, and like i said the other starter never had a problem with it either...and where exactly is the starter relay? and if you say you can switch it with the ac one, where is that one so i can try it?

I cant remember where exactly they were I looked it up at my advance it says on the computer where it is and we just switched them because my a/c doesnt have the lines on it right now

problem solved! aperantly the old owner of the car aka a good friend of mine didnt conect the tranny ground back right, and couldent complete the curcuit since it was geting power, but wasnt being grounded out..it was loose lol oh well i got the car for cheaper cuz it had a problem and ended up being a simple no cost fix!....another "my car won't start" success story from honda-tech.com!!!

If It's a stick check to see if rubber insert in clutch pedal that activates safety switch fell out. It's its auto check starter or check to see if engine's lock up.
