3rd Gear Synchro Problem, Took to the dealer, and their response...
Fixing it under warrenty, but gave me a word of caution...
Synchros don't just go bad and they will fix under warrenty this tme, but I need to watch how I am shifting.
Non of the other synchros are bad though; so my question is, does the 3rd gear synchro going bad and none of the other ones necessarily mean I am doing something wrong? I would think if I was then the others would show some wear or something.
Also, downshifting when down shifting from 3rd to 2nd, is the 3rd gear snychro being affected or is the 2nd gear synchro being used? i.e. when am i using the 3rd gear snychro so I can be more careful when I do use it.

3rd gear syncros go bad on almost 94 up integras.
I remember when the DC's first came out, all of my buddies that thad them had grinding 3rd gears.

when your downshifting, why not just double clutch?? im sure that might save your sync's...just a thought...thats what i do when i down shift. but thats good to hear they at least fixed it...or will fix it.
i had problems with my 3rd gear synchro 2 weeks after i got it...the guy before me must have really driven the **** out of it or something, cause i didn't do crap!...i took it to Acura and they fixed it
if my memory serves me correct, aren't honda/acura synchro's made of brass?? i've never been able to figure out a logical reason for having brass synchro's other than saving money, but honda better have a DAMN good reason for it, cause i hate em...almost every one of my friends with a honda/acura has at LEAST one synchro giving them problems
honda gets a big
for using brass synchros

3rd gear is a problem...
I know a couple of ITR owners in the same boat as me... I personally have owned 2 trannies (one used and one BRAND new) which suffered from the same problems...
I am technically on my 4th tranny now and hopefully I will never have to open another transmission again for repairs!

Are there other Synchros that are stronger than the Honda ones? I mean synchros that could take the pounding.
I had a GSR trans and now an ITR. I have never had any problems with my 3rd gear syncro in either trans. When I opened my current ITR tranny the syncros looked good.
Tranny abuser!
-Tommy who's third gear synchro is gone as well.

I rev. match when I downshift, that should be good enough.

i rev match and double clutch.
rev matching so that i dont affect the balance of the car when im taking a turn, not to save syncros as i dont hit it on the dime
