after valve adjusment Loud knocking noise with oil leak? (video included)
ok well i just picked up my car from the honda dealership after getting a valve adjustment. i read on here about the ticking noise and my car was making a similar noise so i went on and got the valves adjusted.
on the way back the ticking noise came back and got really loud. almost like knocking and now the car is leaking oil from between the head gasket and is knocking. i dont want to believe it so im trying to get a second opinion.
i need to know if this is truly knock or i bent the valves?

rod knock my friend...sorry to say it but its time to look for another block or you can try to rebuild yours...what you were hearing before was(hense you though it was a valve tap) in actuality it was actually a rod bearing on its way out...thats just my opinion tho
when the bearing wear out you throw a rod...which for you has led to a rod knock...now how much is it going to cost? well that depends on how much you can find a short block fo...you should be able to find a b16 block for cheap on craigslist....i honestly thing its easier sometimes to just pull the motor and put the head on the new block, and throw it back in...rebuilding is great becuase your insured good and new products, but you can probably find a used block for about 300 bucks....i would say 500 tops
gotta agree with this guy its defintely a rod knock that what my blown up z6 sounded like time to rebuild gl.
great. what gets me is the car was gonna be sold on friday . oh well. ill just give the guy 1000 back and have him deal with it
are the pistons and rods usually salvageable? the reason i say that is due to the low compression. if i put in another stock block id be a lil skeptical to run 10 psi.

1000 bucks??????? take the car and get a block and do it yourself...are you mechanically inclined at all or are you still tryin to learn??im not bein a ***** i really wanna know if you know a descent amount of mechanics on a honda....replacing a block isnt that hard of a job...simple hand tools will have it out and in, in a weekend..to pay 1k to someone to replace a block is just crazy to me, but if you dont know what your doing i guess its an OK price....i would say take off 500 bucks to have him replace the block(with you obviously buying the block and parts) and call it a day....it might be around 1k but i think it could be done for cheaper w/ you or not
i understand what your trying to say. and yes im no dummy to my honda but time is an issue here. he was to come buy the car Friday and Saturday im going to pick up another car. i guess ill just wait to find out when he calls me on friday and i give him the news.
and i said 1K because that way there will be no argument and i know he wont be doing it himself so ill help him find a block and rest will be labor.
i guess nothing can be salvaged as far as rods and pistons go

^^ouch bro lol....yea that happens with nitrous too..either sell it woth 5-600 bucks off asking or keep it and find a block for 500 bucks..your choice
holy hole in a block..dang man. yeah no the cars not moving. it will be towed to a tech of his choice. and if i have to rebuild it im going ls/v.
yea that things toast my friend....i would just keep it and buy a new block...after its runnig all good than sell it....if i was the buyer i eould just walk away from that....fix it and sell it, or just hold onto it and save some money....than you can buy whatever you want
