All depends on the mechanic and how bad is you piston to wall clearance
if you just want to change the rings that could be done with motor inside your car
I usually do it with a light hone to remove the glaze off the cylinder walls and install new standard size rings for like $600
but once again, that all depends in how bad or good is your piston to wall clearance is

dont, da's are getting rarer, besides ur teg runs reliable (on the assumption u say its clean) then why would you wanna take over his problems. How are you for sure that its a "shot piston ring" and something more major.

Keep the DA....the last place you want to have a B20 in a civic is California...you're just asking for trouble

yea i wouldnt do it, i dont care if someone tells you it just has a bad ring. If your going to be going threw all the hassle of pulling the motor all apart to get the damn piston and rod out, your better of rebuilding the whole motor or atleast putting new rings in across the board. I would never take a motor apart to replace one damn ring.
