Default itr security

hi guys, tried searching but dont know the name of the thing Im looking for. its the thing they use on your rim so you cant tow your car, they use it in the bigger cities for parking violations I think. It locks around your rim

whats the name of this thing and does anyone have any recommendations. I recently got a new job and have to shuttle to work and leave my car unattended all day if I bring it to work. My daily driver is acting up so I may be forced to drive it to work.

Also any other advice would be appreciated in keeping her safe, I was thinking of removing my ecu when its parked and using a masterlock on my wiring harness plug end so they cant plug another ecu in. any input? thanks

Add: If you do get a boot, you always have to make sure it's on very tight. My friends in college got pretty good at removing the parking boots by deflating the tire and slipping the boot off Removing your ecu won't help, they'll bring their own to plug in anyways since yours has the immobilizer (assuming you still have your stock 00-01 unit).

thank you.

no immobilizer in my s300 ecu

but if I took my ecu out and around the actual plug that goes into the ecu put a lock around it they wouldnt be able to unless they cut the lock off. correct? run the skinny part of the lock in between the wires and the lock part were the key goes under were it plugs into the ecu.

also, does those tire immobilizers scratch up your rims?

That design is kind of weak. I've heard of plenty of Hondas stolen and that was left on the ground or in the recovered shell broken.

You want a design that covers the lugs/hub so the whole wheel can't be removed.

Compare $400 extra to getting your car jacked. Money is no issue.
