the other day, i was at best buy getting some stuff. after i was finished, i got in my car and i turned it on. it turns on, but after a second or so of being on, it suddenly sounds like it wants to die then it idles back up to normal idle. i drive home about 30 miles and im fine.
i turn on the car the next morning and it does the same thing, but as im about the accelerate, the car hesitates bad to give me rpm's. so i say, "thats weird." and as im gonna take off, i feel like there is no power out of my engine whatsoever. i keep driving down to the gate and i decide its not a good idea to go long distance so i am just going back home to park it and inspect it. there is a little hill as i go up to my house and as i went up that hill, the car bogged and seemed like there was no power at all, in FIRST GEAR!!
it seems like i was driving a go-kart or something of that nature. me and my friend took out the engine and replaced a tranny that i had bought days before and redid the timing. i was hoping it didnt have that problem when we put the engine back on. unfortunately, it did.
i read up on some siites such as autozone.com under the repair info, troubleshooting section. it tells me that its has to do something in the fuel line.
oh and another thing, #1 and #4 spark plugs are really dark. and the middle spark plugs (2 and 3) are running at normal color (tan).
the engine is a d16z6 and it has around 130,000 miles. i bought the civic dx with the Si motor swaped. i cheked the compresion, and that was good. we checked the water pump and that was good.
a web site even told me to buy a new ecu.
i need help before i go spending tons of money replacing things that are not the issue as of right now. thanks.
