ok ive decided to go with 16" motegi traklites on my 93 del sol. what size tires should i get for these rims. the "recommended tire size" according to tire rack is 205-40-16. is there any way i could run a 45 or 50 series tire or will i have rubbing problems? i plan on taking the car to the track every once in a while so im looking for good performance as well.

i run 55 sidewall height on my 99 ex

 

205/45/16 here. I ran 40's and they were a little harsh. Like stated above if youre not dropped very much run the bigger sidewall. Something else to keep in mind is there arent a lot of tire choices in a 205/40/45/16

 

The best size to run would be a 215/40R16. This tire is EXACTLY the same diameter as the stock OE tire size (185/60R14) of 22.7inches.
