So here's the deal. I had a problem with my cooling system the other day (that's to some jerk with no sense of humor) and I fixed the problem. But NOW my car isn't getting up to normal operating temp. it always ran a little cool, according to my gauge, but now it won't barely pass the cool line. I'm thinking my thermostat was slightly stuck open and now it's FULLY open all the time, causing the coolant to always be moving through the system and never regulating the block temp to normal, causing it to stay cool. Anything else that could be the problem or do I pretty much got it?

sounds like a busted t stat...buy a new one...

 

that's what i figured, but the cooling system is a complex thing so I figured I'd see if there was anything else that would cause it. thanks

 

What about the temperature sensor located below the distributor (at least that's where it's located on an EG).
