so my car was died today couldnt start it...car starts but it seemed weak the lights got a little dim i turned it off and started it like three times the third time it would turn on but you can hear the starter trying to start the lights worked fine everything.. so i took off the starter got it tested it was fine took the battery in and they said it was bad so i bought a new one the thing is while i was driving every time i hit around 3k in first gear and let go of gas or was to change into 2nd gear the guages drop my stereo turns off so im lost...im thinking alternator but might just be something else i wanted to know wat you guys thought first. im planning on taking it to a mechanic buddy of mines cause he charges me cheap to do things so any helps appreciated with this topic.

i AGREE! it is most probably the alternator, since you have a new battery, the most common thing base on your explanation is the alternator.
