Car Starting Problem!!! H E L P
My 94 LS has problems starting... When i go to turn the key..All I get is ONE "click". It doesnt turnover or anything. Lights dont dim either. I know its not the battery as i put in my friends 3 week old battery and it still does the same thing. I Cleaned and checked all my ground points... Im stumped... Oh it happens intermittently.. SOMETIMES it does this and sometimes it doesnt..Right now its not working at all though..
i know this may sound stupid but hit the starter with a bat. not too hard though...i remember someone did this to my boys integra and it worked lol..
It's your starter solenoid. You can get the parts to rebuild it yourself (From toyota), or you can just get a whole new starter. There is a post on here somewhere about how to rebuild the solenoid.
I pulled my starter and rebuilt it on a lunch break, so it's not that hard or time consuming.

Only thing is i took my starter to autozone and they said it was good after they tested it... Is it still possible that it is bad? Also...The guy i bought my car from had a ignition killswitch relay on it... Is it true that those relays can sometimes act up? Thanks!!

My 94 integra ls had an alarm with an ignition killswitch as well...I had to replace my starter switch because i was having similar problems. When you turn your key to the II position before you turn it on you should hear 3 seperate clicks one should be under your dash at the relay, the other would be when the check engine light goes off, and the third one should be after the fuel pump primes itself. If you dont see your warning lights or hear any clicks lights up its the switch. if you dont hear the click under the dash you need a relay(i cant remember if its called the fuel relay or the main relay)
When i tryed to crank mine over i didnt get any dash lights or click unless i jiggled my key. I got my ignition switch relay for like 200 bucks at advance auto.
Hope something in my mess of info helps or gives you an idea...good luck hope you get it back on the road soon.
