hot engine, hot valve cover, hot manifold, will i be safe?
I recently swap over a 95 gsr into my 98 civic, and the engine gets really hot. I can probaly throw some hot dogs and eggs into and it'll cook. but anyways i've been keeping an eye on the temp gauge and it doesn't even make it half way.
My girlfriends dad said even if the temp gauge isn't telling you its' hot, it's a bad thing that it gets that hot and its' going to peel the paint off my hood. Then he started to tell me about his days of the muscle cars, and how some of his friends engine burn up because of how hot it was.
I remember my d16y8 never have gotten that hot before. so i'm just wondering if i'll be safe. I'm using the d16y8 raditor, so could that have been the cause too?

Make sure you have good airflow and your fans are working. Fresh coolant, check hoses. You might want to go to a bigger rad. but I think the d16 rad. is supposed to be able to handle it.

It's going to run slightly warmer with the D16 rad. All the Integra rads were full size.

Yes, you MIGHT want to do it, or you MIGHT not want to burn your money. There are plenty of civics driving around every day on GSR motors and civic rads, it'll just make you run a bit warmer, nothing to worry about at all.
As for your temperature gauge, [freak] your girlfriend's dad, that thing WILL tell you when it's getting hot to a level where you'll have to start worrying about it.

Your oil is fine. I used to have a '93 ej1 with swapped gsr in it with the half radiator. Then I went turbo...with no problems. You're fine.

get an automatic civic radiator if u want a bigger radiator for cheap, heard they were bigger but ive nver ran one. someone else might be able to confirm it.

use the radiator for a Del Sol VTEC. the radiator is half size like other models but its thicker and the hose fittings are bigger so your larger B-series hoses will fit correctly. you can check junk yards but youd be better off getting a few one for not much more $.
