b16 Tranny is making noise
I recently swapped in my motor. gsr motor w/ b16 tranny. it has a act 6 puck (spring loaded) clutch. I installed new pilot bearing and throw out bearing before the swap. the throw out bearing is making noise. I don't know why. it is a new bearing.
I know forsure that it is the throw out bearing because whenever i press in the clutch, the noise stop. what i don't understand is that it is a new bearing. Is this normal? i don't think it is. It is a 96 gsr bearing. all the b serie throw out bearing should be the same am i correct? can it be cause of the act clutch?? Please help.

you got the idea backwards, if the noise was there when you pressed the clutch in then it would be TOB, but since it goes away its most likely the ISB

a puck style clutch is still going to be rougher on a trans then a normal one, spring loaded or not. those style clutches usually have really heavy pressure plates too. note taken

thanks again. but i was wondering why it is making the winding noise. the ISB is brand new purchased from honda. I am so confused why this is happening.

If you're not racing you really don't need a 6 puck clutch. Word i've been getting lately is guys have a tendency to grenage differentials with them. As for your problem I still say it either sounds like input shaft bearing or another bearing in the transmission.
