Miliage on Cluster..HeLP!
Well as you can see in my sig..I've been looking for buyers for my car..The ONLY problem is...the car's actual miliage is 80K...and the cluster (GS-R) says 150+K...Is there any way that I can have someone turn it back so that its legitiment? I heard that someone can actually match up the miliage on the clutser to the miliage on the engine...Is that possible?

The dealer should be able to do it, but its probably too late for that.
When I changed from a DX to an EX/Si cluster on my civic, they swaped the speedo part of the clusters so I would retain the actual chassis mileage on my car...
who's they?

The thing is the cluster is a GSR in a Civic...The actual car has 80XXXk miles..while the cluster has 150xxxK miles....Will the mechanic say anything for doing that? I cant put on my Dx cluster because THAT would be really illegal considering it only has 40K miles.
how bout putting the original cluster back in, and sell the GSR cluster seperately? You can always tell the prospective buyers was the actual mileage is...
dont ask me how to do it though.. its illegal
Anyways, if you can kindly tell me how; I'm not trying to do fraud or anything. I figured since I'm building a new motor, I want to send the cluster back to zero miles. Please...do tell.
i think ill try that..but keep in mind people...my car has 80k miles..my cluster has 150k+ miles..Im gonna try to turn it back to 81kmiles.
Look, like someone said, it's easier to just buy a new cluster with zero mileage. after that when you sell the car you explain you put in a fresh cluster at the time of the swap so the mileage would match the engine. On the bill of sale there is a box you can check that says "ODOMETER DOES NOT SHOW ACTUAL MILEAGE ON VEHICLE" or some ****. Mark that box.
I't for those really old cars that flip the mileage on the OD and now you have a 1973 car reading 5,000 miles. But it will work in this case too
Good luck..

I dont have an engine swap so I dont know what you're talking about..I have a CLUSTER SWAP..and the cluster shows more miliage than the engine has...
