my civic blowing black smoke?

Default my civic blowing black smoke?

my civic is blowing black smoke from my exhaust when i hit the gas, also im losing a lot off gas what can this be?

ck the signal wire on the o2, if it is stuck anywhere, and not fluctuating between .1 and .9 volts replace it. start with that.

are you chipped running in open loop?
why no 02?

i dont know if it will stop the black smoke but it will definitly help not to mention improve gas milage. with out using an 02 sensor the computer cant tell if it is giving the motor too much fuel so the black smoke is coming out due to the excess fuel... which in time is going to destroy you catalytic converter. which can be expensive to replace.

so my advice.... get an 02 sensor asap.

i dont have a cat we took it out and ran a straight pipe and i dont get any black smoke or cel codes.......i duno if i got a 02 sensor lol were wud it be???

you get black smoke from burning excess fuel. your 02 sensor is before the cat so its not going to throw any codes.
