why the loose shifting?
i got a skunk2 ss, ES bushings and installed them with a friend last week. when i first installed it, the shifting was nice and tight. after i got my exhaust installed, and especially today, there was a lot of play while shifting. besides a lot of wiggling in neutral, there was also a lot of play when IN gear too...i checked the archives, and it says to get new bushings, but i already replaced the stock bushings with polyu ones from ES. do you think the shift linkage is loose or other nuts and bolts are loose?

@ OP:
What this guy MEANT was it probably has absolutely nothing to do with the bitch pin.
AND HE'S RIGHT!
In any event, sounds like ur exchange linkage is bent, or one of the O around that prince albert type bar that goes through the shifter is gone. How is it all down there, where the shifter connects to the exchange linkage?
EDIT: PS: I changed my "bitch pin" (never understood why it's called that, never took me over a minute to pop it out) when I put in my short throw - but it just keeps the exchange linkage connected to the trans - it wouldn't make ur shifter loose.

He's talking about the pin that keeps your exchange linkage connected to the transmission.
You know, the one that has absolutely no bushing properties what-so-ever and couldn't possibly be the cause of sudden shifter sloppiness?
That one.

highly doubt it but it could of just been replaced with a bolt which is why its sloppy. Im betting it knocked on the exhaust we they installed it so they messed something else up to make the piping work. get under there and check everything.
wherever you got your exhaust installed... they jacked your bushings!!! jk have you checked underneath to make sure nothing is loose? Even though you just installed new bushings, things can still go wrong eg. not tightening a screw all the way.
