Default Oil and Oil Filter

I recently bought a 95 Integra with a 2000 spec B18C engine swap. I need to change the oil, but I am unsure about what oil filter and oil to use. One person has told me that I should run a Honda s2000 oil filter. I would prefer to use a stock oil filter, but I would also prefer not to buy one from Acura since they charge a lot.

As far as oil goes I al leaning towards 5W-30 full synthetic Mobile 1. Can someone pleas help?

You can use a stock filter if you like and your oil chioce is fine.

The reason why they recommended the S2000 filters (which I used) is that it's OEM quality, works, and keeps oil pressure up. Personally, I went a step further and put a hose clamp around the oil filter to keep it from swelling and expanding.

Use the s2000 oil filter.. the filter is slightly smaller than the ITR filter, causing a slightly better oil pressure, you will feel a smoother "not as noticable Vtec cross over" which anyone who knows that equates to less of the infamous power loss "dipp" in the vtec cross over portion on a dyno chart.

The mad vtec boom is just cool sounding, if you want performance do it right.

Do you self a favor and use synthetic oil, Ive used both mobile 1 20-30w and castrol GTX 20-30 ... I noticed the mobile 1 had more of a tendency to burn causing a higher oil consumption rate vs. the castrol... anyone else notice this?? chime in I am sure it wasnt my imagination.

why? i beat the **** out of both cars and have no engine problems. neither cars consume oil. oil temps and pressure is controlled. and i change it frequently so there is no problem

There's a reason syn oil is better then conven....To each his own.

You have a point, and i agree. However, your method of pushing your point is not effective. Synthetic is definitely superior for its start up tendencies alone. The higher cost($13 for Conv, $23+ Syn) and sometimes limited availability(depends on oil choice) is its main downfalls.

Me either, I always bought the K&N arm and a leg filters. Then when I bought my R the previous owner Smalltownva turned me onto them. Once I got home I did some research and now I don't buy K&N anymore.

Pics of the clamp on the filter? I've never heard of this.

I don't have any off hand. It is simple though.
1) Take a S2000 oil filter in your right hand.
2) Take a hose clamp of a slightly larger O.D. in your left hand.
3) Slide hose clamp over the oil filter.
4) Tighten down firm over the middle area of the oil filter (middle of oil filter length).
5) Put on R.
6) Profit.
