need help bad.. timing marks on flywheel

Default need help bad.. timing marks on flywheel

to make a LONG STORY SHORT..just had my engine put in by a shop that put my flywheel mark to the white mark right above the red mark and it runs like ***. so i bring it to a performance shop and they say to line it up to the red mark... So what mark do i use???? please help me out..


its a 93 lude, with h23a bluetop vtec obd1

im still searching but still cant find anything... the shop set my flywheel to the white mark my car runs like ****. the performance shop said to take the timing belt off and line my flywheel to the red mark... WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no the white mark is correct the red mark is for setting ignition timing when the car is running

than what is going on here why did he have to set my camgears all fed up to get the car to run right?

there should be one white mark its the tdc mark and then there should be three marks close to eachother white red then white they are the ignition timing marks

ok i got you on that and i just looked that up in my book but the shop had it set to the white mark and the only to get the car to run was to turn the camgears as far as they would go opposite of each other... so what could have happened to make this do this...And when i baught it to the performance shop thay said to set it to the red mark..not by timing gun
