***********IDLING PROBLEM************
Car is B18C5 with Jun3 cams & adjustable cam gears and 70mm TB
TB idling screw is @ max
Recently I am experiencing some problems with the idling.
When the car is warmed, the idle drops to approx 300-500 rpm
it makes the motor to shake and the whole car shakes.
- Everytime when Im on the highway, when I pull the car out of gear and release gas. Idle sometimes will drop to 0 and stall while the car is still in rolling mode.
- Car will stall when I roll the car to a fully stop, after I stopped, car dies.
ps: the vacuum line is currently disconnected from the intake manifod to the FPR, If I connect the tube, idling drops to 0 and car will stall. Timing currently is set to 18
Can anyone please tell me what should I check first, Its been a while that Im having these problems.

Did you tune the car after you installed the cams ? If not you are going to have to , installing bigger cams like that will affect the idle ALOT not to mention the whole program. What engine management do you have ? Don't mess with the idle screw on the top , adjust the one on the bottom that controls the butterfly one it should have an 8 or 7mm screw on it. Loosen it up and adjust the idle to around 950 rpms , after that you have that set make sure you tune the rest of the program. Hope this helps you out !
I will try to post a picture of the screw that I am talking about later on.

I did dyno tune the car after I installed the cams.
but then because the intake cam snaped, so I had to replace it with the same spec, same cam. I am currently running a P28 Crome tune.
I already adjusted the screw on top. Is it too late now? or I can just turn it back and adjust the screw that u mentioned above?
anyways, appreciate for your suggestion

he may have changed these but the base settings almost always need to be changed, especially when adding cams.

but just one curious question, cams were installed last year and it was dyno tuned properly.
this happens after the snapped cam, but i did replace it with the same cam and spec. do i still need a retune?

so let me get this straight. You first installed the cams and had them tuned. One of the cams broke so you replaced it with the same one and now you are having problems and running on the same tune as before which didnt have these problems?

agreed. any time you play with the timing again, even if the setup is the same, the car will probably not be the same. time for another tune.
