Default LS/VTEC QUESTION!!!

wats up H-T says that you should use ARP rod bolts with shotpeened rods so do other honda tuning web sites, but a tuning shop that deals with only mainly hondas near me and they said they build LS/V's all the time with bone stock bottom ends revvin at 8Grand makeing power, and my bro was the same way, stock bottom end making power a little past 8grand. Im building my LS/V right now and i cant decide to do stock bottom end or spend money on ARP rod bolts, machining the big end of the rods, and shotpeening the rods let me no what you guys think

Of course you can slap it together, rev it to 8k, and make power. How long that power is going to last before you spin a rod bearing is another issue altogether.

dependin on the cams 8200 will b your limit of power any way

you could always buy the z10 crank girdle it will keep your motor in steady condition will you rev high so that way you have no worries. I could be wrong but i belive they sell it as a kit and it comes with arp main bolts for the entire bottom end.

you can read here this the actual person who designed it .
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=162919.
This is where you can purchase it and i belive they also sell there main studs as an entire kit with headbolts but I would call them on that one .
or you can call my local shop in N.J. they use the girdle all the time believe me they will point you in the right direction or you can just buy it directly from them or order it online from z10.
