Default blue smoke?/??

i recently did a d16z6 swap in my eg coupe.! sometimes i get blue smoke coming from the tail pipe i was wondering if it just breaking in from new motor or what. i know what blue smoke normally means but i was hoping there is another quick solution.! also burning fuel? are these signs of what i think it is?? oil leaking past pistons and also alot of gas/?

if the motor wasnt rebuilt then there is no break in process. There is no quick solution, either get it fixed or stop using the fuel that cleans your stuff and hope that carbon deposits over time covers it up.

i heard blue smoke was due to bad piston rings.

Usually if its only burning oil randomly, not all the time that is, it wouldnt neccasarly be the piston rings, which a compression test should tell you the results of the cylinders. If its burning oil every once and awhile, it could be the valves not sealing.

Do a compression test and if it yeilds good numbers do a leakdown test.

Also monitor how much oil it is consuming, if it consumes more than 4qts a week driving to and from work, it probably is the rings, if it consumes less it probably is your valves. Keyword: probably, not definatley.

Blue smoke is always oil related, white smoke or black smoke is fuel related, although if a headgasket is bad its white smoke aswell, but it smells sweet.

Keep driving it then, and every day monitor your oil dipstick and make sure you still have adequte oil. If its not changing on the dipstick much than its either your valves or your fuel tank could be contaminated or fuel lines and your just burning that out.

112,000 miles doesnt mean anything if the previous owner did not take care of the engine. Also getting the engine from a junkyard doesnt support your case much.
