Blue smoke = burning oil =

How many miles on the motor? I'd say do a compression test and a leakdown test... you might have worn rings causing oil blow by. Worn valve guides also cause oil to get burned.... if this was the case then you would see blue smoke when deccelerating from high RPM's with the throttle closed.

Yeah it has to be a error if your running fine. Where did you have the test done and they should of tested it twice if it read 10. Good Luck

we retested it like 4 times. same results. but how did my car run a 14.9 with only i/e after the compression testing? runs like how a normal gsr should. nothing feels different at least.

you are burning oil. piston rings have probably gone bad. time for a rebuild or you can just keep adding oil to patch the problem, but eventually those rings need replaced. time for rebuild, have fun

I'm having the same problem and I know that it's the rings cause I just got the valve seals done about 2 months ago and I'm still burning oil but not as much as before.I really don't feel like coughing up the money to get the rings replaced but I know that I have to soon. Would it be okay to still spray nitrous until the winter time or would I make the motor even worse than it already is if I do? What's the average cost for rings and labor?

ok maybe the piston rings have gone bad...but then again maybe not. i changed my spark plugs about 4k miles ago and i found the first 2 spark plugs were flooded with oil. i resealed the valve cover gasket and everything seems to be fine last time i checked...no more flooding. all gaskets are fine, sealed, and fresh live rubber. but all is well now with the spark plugs. but im just wondering wat could've caused the oil to flood in like that also.

Man all I got to say about this is FUCKED UP I dont know how you car can run so good with low compresion must be all that NAWWZ you ******* mad man. It does sound like you need to rip it apart and rebuild. If money is an issue just keep adding oil and lay off on the nos if you want to strech the life of your engine. Good Luck Bro

Rings and/or piston (hopefully not your cylinder wall) need repairs.
Good luck

white smoke could be synthetic oil burning.

i would definetly say oil rings, did you run that time before or after having the comp test done, possibly the hard run finally killed that oil ring.

i was told but dont know if its true or not that constantly changing to different weight oils/brands will also kill seals/rings, so stick to the one oil till you get your problem sorted.

Just to let you know, when I bought my GeeSR new(626 miles) ,it went through a quart of oil every week (about 300 miles) and she ran 14.9's also. I will tell you that if your compression numbers are correct you better fix it as soon as possible or you will ruin that cylinder..... just speaking from experience.

EDIT/ I needed new rings in #3 cylinder and the cylinder wall was ruined b/c I waited too long to get it fixed. New short block was ordered./EDIT
