Okay, I drove home from work and reved up to 8800rpm with no problems. Then I took the BFG DRAG radials into my trunck and droved with a friend to a straight street. Then we changed the tires and we wanted to measure the acceleration with Gtech. A little burn out (damn, the BFGs pulled my car about 5 meters while the e-brake was fully on)
Okay, we calibrated the Gtech and I started. But once of a sudden the engine stutters above 7000rpm. In all gears at low boost too.
We changed the spark plugs. It was dark already, but we had a flash light. New run, but the same results.
The eninge runs great up to 7000rpm, but then there is something wrong!
Can this be ignition fault? Maybe time for a new distributor cap or something?
Damn, and this 5 days before a huge DRAG event, I'm scared! Guys plesae help out quick!

What are the plugs gapped at? How much boost if any are you running?
I guess I can add somemore to this, I was having the same issue. My car was jumping and misfiring starting at 5500 rpms and then again at 6500 and beyond. I thought it was the placement of my 3 bar, since it was close to the battery and fuse box. So I moved it, then I thought maybe it's the MSD 6A taking a crap. So I sent it back and got a 6AL to hold me over. The car does not misfire nor does it surge up top like it used to, but without seeing a dyno plot/chart I'm not going to rule anything else out. I also had my plugs gapped at .030 and spoke to a very smart car guy and he stated that I should close the gap a little more to see if it helps out, so I gapped them at .025 and it doesn't seem to be affecting anything. Morning cold starts are still fine so I'll keep messing with it 'til it's fixed. HTH. Allen

for both of u -- sounds a lot like ignitor problems. Swap ignitors with a known good unit and test. This often happens only when the motor warms up, runs perfectly when cold.
edit: let us know what you find, im always interested in hearing solns to weird problems

I run max 1.2 Bar boost for 7500 miles not once of a problem. It happend yesterday suddenly. I use NGK copper plugs heat range 7 with plugs stock gap for also 7500 miles with no problems.
Perhaps the plug wires are defect?

is the ignitor in the distributor? How does that thing look. I know many other engine parts, but the distributor is new land for me
