Even though the D16z6 is currently in a coma I havent got to post any pics of our front mount intercooler...
Let me know what you guys think...

The thing is just huge, 36in long total..
for measurements, sizes and if you want to buy one check my website.

Wow...that's pretty clean, Jeff! How much pressure drop did you see with that IC?

The pressure drop was very minimal, I was very suprised. The IC really made a differnce with this car.
I agree it is a bit short, but my friend didnt want to cut a damn thing in his car, so a larger IC was out of the question. and plus, I dont even know how much more efficent a larger one would be, since you wouldnt be getting that much more air flow to it. The whole mouth is full of cooling cores.

Re: A few pics of our revised Custom Turbo Project on our D16z6 (xbird)
We had to cut the crap out of this bumper to make this cooler fit. I suppose you could get a larger one.. just more cutting will be involved. We just found that this intercooler fit very nicely..
I actually did post his prices on my site eairler today, but he freaked out and told me to take them off.. So email him.. That intercooler shown is something like 250-275ish... shipped (but we got the smoking deal on it
(got to love free advertising!)

oh i thought you didn't have to cut the bumper..
which part was too large?? was it too tall?? or too long??
well then looks like i have to take off the bumper and see which part will be blocked and measure the exact size........
thanks

That is similar(clearance wise) to the prelude intercooler. The prelude cannot have a tall IC due to the same clearance issues with bumper supports. That's why it's long and wide.

only problem is that IC is only like 1.5" thick, its cut from a Ford SuperDuty IC core
