Default gsr vtec trouble

Hey all, i am new and looked around for answers but couldnt find any, i have a 96 integra special edition with a gsr engine and a p30 ecu, i realize this isnt the right ecu, i bought the car in june and had no problems with it until recently my car will not go into vtec it will just stutter at 5500 rpms, otherwise the car runs fine im not low on oil and i just had it changed last week. please help me i have no idea what the problem is and i'm not too mechanical so any suggestions would be helpful.

in response to jdmtyperdc2 why do you post on everyones prob and then give bad advice?everytime i log on i all i see is your name.to the question holder i know you said you already checked the oil pressure. i would check the distributor cap and rotor for signs of wear usual tune up items you know.are you throwing a cell?maybe a little more info.

^^actually hondaman1212...he didnt say he checked the oil pressure...

i guess not only do you give bad advice but you cant read either...he said he checked the oil. there is a difference.

So stop worrying about what i do, and stick to the topics.

Yeah, i would check oil pressure. Could be the oil pump going out, however it doesn't really sound like that. Otherwise just work your way down the line... Spark plugs, wires, distributor, etc.

If you are getting a check engine light, then check to see what code it is. It isn't that hard to figure out, it can just take a little time to narrow it all down. Good luck!

Sounds more ignition problem than oil pressure. I would check plugs wires and your dizzy for wear and possibly malfunction.
