Default Engine breaking up past 7K RPM please help ASAP

Hey guys i just recently did a swap to my (00'EK) i put in a (95'B18C1) Using an (00'Si Harness and ECU). At first it was NOT reving pass 4K and i fixed that problem and it started running fine but today out of the blue it started sputtering or breaking when i would hit about 7K to 8K any ideas? it didn't do that b4 it would hit 8K no problem, so im stumped what can it be any clues? One more thing sometimes the vtec won't kick in! I need help ASAP!

P.S. Could it be because im using a SI ECU instead of the GSR ECU?

Are you throwing any check engine lights? Do you have all of the sensors connected properly? The si ecu is an obd2 and the motor is obd1. You need to make sure that you have everything on the motor setup to run obd2.

Hrmm maybe your timing is off, or need to do a valve adjustment. I know mine did that but i had a obd 0 b16 cam and change the cam to a ctr and did a valve adjustment and it didnt sputter anymore.

Well heres what i see as of now... i noticed today that sometimes it wont pop v-tec and when that happens the engine doesn't break up or sputter...by turning of the car and then turning it back on it starts to pop v-tec again and as soon as it pops v-tec it begins to sputter.

I also think it might have something to do with timing.

I had a very similar problem with my car. When vtec would engage my engine light would pop on and it would fall back out of vtec and start sputtering. CEL light would also light up, I flashed the code vtec solenoid code, injector code and a o2 code. Turned out I had a bad ecm. Might I add I had a p06 converted for vtec running hondata. Someone didn't solder in vtec properly .

Actually, It sounds like vtec is not disengageing. I had the same problem. My wire to the vtec solinoid had unhooked and frayed!!

Sorry guys i been a little caught up with personal family problems... Well yh i have converted everything to run with an OBD2 ecu and the only code showing up is the secondary O2 sensor but thats no biggie no other codes show end the engine light is off... Yet it was exactly what i thought it was and one of you guys the car was off timing and the dizzy plug needed some cleaning... after a couple attempts i got running fine...

But yh thanks it was timing no ecu problem.
