what do i need to check for when buying a turboed car???

Default what do i need to check for when buying a turboed car???

am thinking about buying a turboed intrgra for 10,000, it has a k20 and all the guy said was that it needed a alinment and tune said that it was pushing 440 wrp on old tune, NOW my ? is what do i need to look for when buying a turboed car and is there anything special i need to look for when i buy it?

well first of all, it is aswapped car, so make sure u take a good look at the mounts and wiring, and anything else in the engine bay that might look half assed, half assed swaps will cause problems down the road. as far as the turbo goes, take off the intake, make sure it spinns freely with out any play. and he said it was making 440 on the old tune? and it still needs another one? make sure he isnt running it off a base map or something.

440hp off an old tune. If the car was tuned and it needs a re-tune either it wasn't tuned correctly or something changed. Once you car is tuned you really don't have to change it unless you change parts or happen to find a boost leak or something along those lines.

build one, don't buy one. then you can have your own 30,000$ honda that you can't sell for 10,000$

no its not off of ebay i live in texas its off of houston imports .com he was oraiganly selling for 17,000 but i asked him if i brought 10,000 cash he said it was pausable that he could do it for that am just kind of nerveous and woundering y he would let it go for 7,000 less when it soposly has 20gs in it

i just talked to him and the guy said the reason it needed a tune is bc the old owner put 1000cc injectors and it was runing rich.

That offer seems kinds suspicious! Do the transaction in a public public place and I'm hoping he is handing you the title at that pt?
