As titled stated, I don't know whats wrong. While I'm driving and coming to a light, I usually let go gas and put in neutral. Today I noticed while I let go of gas the motor is still reving, not going higher and not going lower either. As I engage clutch and brake, I noticed the motor stayed revved at 2.5k for about a few sec. Then it dropped back down, since then it's been doing it all day. Btw, its a 99 si at about 100k. I was thinking maybe bad IACV, but I haven't got much time to scoop around. I will be changing my oil this weekend and hoping someone could lead me the right direction to fixing this problem, Thanks.

 

I know it seems to obvious but maybe your throttle is sticking

 

^ took the words right out of my mouth. pull off the intake hose and look for any soot or anything that would stop the throttle from going back to closed.

 

Thanks for the replies, will check today. Don't know if this'll help, but the car has stalled on me couple times this week while going to a stop in neutral...

I checked the throttle cables, hoses. Nothing so far...anyone?

 

take your iacv off and clean it out with some brake cleaner. Also clean out your throttle body with it too.
