Default Pilot bearing spinning inside flywheel?

I assume this is bad, as the manual says that the pilot bearing should be replaced if there is excessive wear or if it slips out of the flywheel easily. Thing is, this is a new pilot bearing, and the flywheel in question is a Clutchmasters aluminum flywheel, I believe it is around 8lbs or so.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does this mean the flywheel is done for and needs to be replaced? When I put the engine together about this time last year, the pilot bearing fit normally, meaning it had to be pressed in, but now it is way too loose.

I am sure others have had this issue, did you have to replace the flywheel? Did you notice anything weird when driving?

I took the flywheel out, and the pilot bearing fell out as soon as I turned the flywheel upside down. Then when I bought a new bearing, it did the same thing. When I first installed this thing last year it had to be pressed in, but now new bearings fall right in.

Yeah, that's bad. You might try a speedy sleeve. That's not ideal with something like this, but it might make your flywheel still operable. Other than that, I would suggest getting a new flywheel. Sorry

Well that sucks, so much for Clutchmasters. I didn't even have that thing very long, used it maybe 3 years, and changed the bearing after 2 years of use, and at that time it still fit tight.

fidanza and exedy. if you go aftermarket get one of these two, both fit the task, the fidanza is the cheap way to go, like $150 shipped
