Default obd1 ecu in an obd2 car (air intake temp sensor)

i just swapped an ls vtec in my 2000 si and converted it to obd1. im getting a cel (air intake temp sensor). i know that obd1 cars have them on the im, and obd2 cars have them in the air intake. so my question is which one do i need. do i just run wires from my ecu to the sensor on the im?

thanks
john

alright i found the ecu pinout for it. do i run a wire from the ecu to one side of the sensor and just ground the other pin on the sensor?
