IAT ????
I did a Y8 swap on my D16Z6 and everything runs great. There is a sensor that was left on my Z6 mani that is white and was located on the rear of the mani. My CEL was on so I plugged in the white sensor that has a little pole sticking out into the harness, and the CEL went off. I'am pretty sure that sensor is the IAT but not positive.
Also could the IAT stop the vtec from engaging, because I still cant hear vtec crossover. When my car was bone stock I could hear it crossover slightly now I cant it just gets alittle louder. I have plenty of oil, no CELs and good oil pressure, I heard someone speak of bleeding the solenoid or checking it, can someone please explain this ?

Re: IAT ???? (ACE_94EG)
That's because the Y8 uses the IAT on the intake pipe itself. Not on the mani. That's why you don't have a spot for it. As far as if this prevents Vtec kicking in I wouldn't know. As far as testing the solenoid you can run a wire from the positive side of your battery into the Vtec solenoid plug and you should hear it crack or click in this case.

Re: IAT ???? (mortificationrock)
Well in this case I have the IAT from the Z6 just plugged in the harness and zip tied the plug and harness to firewall out of the way. So effectively the IAT is getting a temperature reading but maybe cooler than the temp inside the mani, not sure if this will hurt performance at all because the car ran the same with the IAT unplugged its just that now with it plugged on the harness the CEL is off.
