weird acceleration problem. no cel, need help!
I've found a bunch of threads that come close to the same issue I'm having, but from my experience with cars a little difference in diagnosis can make a huge difference on what the solution may be. I drive a 95 integra gsr that has a jdm gsr swap in it. I bought the swap about 8 months ago when my old set up died on me. I'm guessing the jdm swap has around 75k miles on it now since I've put about 20k on it personally. I put the motor in and all was well up until about 2 weeks ago.
The issue is, when the car warms up to it's regular operating temperature it starts to run very sluggish and weak, and I have a fluttering noise which I can't differentiate between a timing belt flap or an exhaust leak. I have replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the k&n, checked fluid levels, spark plugs, wires, etc for problems. all seem to be ok. From what the other threads have posted it seems like it may either be a distributor or a timing issue, and I am due for a belt, tensioner and water pump. I have a new distributor to put on it to see if that's the problem. I just really want to make sure it isn't a compression or misfire issue. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks to anyone with legitimate advice.

personally i would remove the valve cover and feel the tensionon of the belt. you could try putting a 12mm wrench on the intake cam sprocket and rotate counter clockwise. if it moves without moving the exhaust cam the tensioner may be shot, or just mis-adjusted. now when i say rotate, i dont mean rotate completely, i mean just a little. if you see slack between the intake cam and the exhaust cam, sorta on top of the cams, sounds like the tensioner to me.
yeah, I put type r cams in a little while ago and had reset the ecu then so that the fuel trim could readjust itself. and as far as the tensioner, I may not have tightened down enough or something. I just figured it would have shown symptoms right then. Something I noticed when driving today though, the car heated up to operating temperature and it didn't start getting sluggish until I had to kinda stomp it to get into traffic. After that I noticed it instantly start running bad. Replacing the dizzy today though so we'll see if thats the problem. will check the belt as well for tension.
