Default 00 EM1: Removing Brake Caliper Pins

Hey All,

I'm in the proccess of servicing my brake pads/rotors and noticed the Caliper Pin A (lower Pin) won't go all the way in. I'm almost at 200K, so I think a little grease might do the trick. Is there any particular trick in pulling these out of the caliper housing? Any particular grease you might recommend using? Refer to #12 below. Thanks in advance.

THe pins should come out, you may need a 12mm socket.

Yes there is a grease made for that application. Any auto parts store has it. Wipe off the old stuff and put some grease on each pin, I also put a small dab in the sliders #13 to where the pads slide.

Put enough grease on the pins, you don't need a lot just enough. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

The bolt uses a 12mm socket, but the pin only has a tab on either side to pull. It just seems to be stuck in there rather tight. Thanks for the replies.
