Default Power Door Lock problem(not typical)

I start trouble shooting the power locks with the basics such as fuse, check connections, check relay box, and still nothing.

I grabbed the Helms Electrical manual (Thanks Ali)

After about an hour or more of following wires. I find the damn 12vdc power wire broke off the PIN connector on the Door Jam Harness. Anyone know if I can get a new pin and replace this?? or do you think I might need a new harness.

Get some cable and extended the original one and resolder it to the original pin.

I wish it was that easy, the pin is broken. The cable is long enough. I just cant find that type of pin at any local stores. Its frustrating.

Your not going to find a pin like that in any local automotive store. It would probably be easier to buy another harness or another busted harness and steal a pin out of it. You can try to find the pin here but unless you know who makes the pin you probably won't find it though.

just go to the junkyard and cut that connector off another car and you will have all the pins you will need

That's most probably the best solution.

I still can't figure out how it would break like that in the first place, just my luck.

Anyhow, thanks for the input guys.

Its because you have a turbo. Fix that problem and you'll fix all the problems.

Tell Katie I said hi.

wires always get pulled and kinked at that location far too often- especially some of the older EG's with power locks and windows- things start to magically stop working

Maybe you should ask one of the 6 previous owners.

How will that help him find a new pin and fix the problem?

I'm wondering how the pin is broken? Solder that bish back together or, like stated above, go rip one out of a car in the junkyard.

not 100% sure, but you should be able to take the connector apart remove the pin, then reattach the loose wire again and good to go.. or get another harness from junkyard

I think it was a joke, just like my joke about his turbo, even though my joke is also truth.

I need to get my car fixed, and that gave me the money to do it. Accidents suck.
