Default Should I get a GSR shortblock or ITR longblock for my EM1?

I have a 99 EM1 w/ stock B16A2
I've been tryin to find a GSR block so I can build a PMTR during this summer
And I found a ITR B18C5 longblock on my local craigslist
If I get the GSR block plus my B16A2 head, will that be B18C5 setup or B18C1?
are there any difference between B18C1 and B18C5 besides jdm and usdm?
Which one on the follow is the best bet for me?

will the ITR long block a good start since the head is factory ported and polished?
I can get it bored out for free and put CTR or ITR over size pistons in it
and what else do I need for parts if I buy that one?
can I use my b16 cams since it doesn't come w/ it?

Is it ppl say is better to use B16 head w/ GSR block for PMTR
so is the ITR head better than the B16A2 head then?

If you use a USDM GSR block with your head, then the block would be the B18C1, if you use a USDM ITR block then it would be the B18C5. THe JDM motors don't have number designations, both the GSR and the ITR are referred to as the B18C GSR, and the B18C R or B18C R-spec.

Does this ITR longblock worth $700 if it does come w/ a real PR3 ITR head
since ITR head is port and polished, has high flow single stage intake plenum, lighter rods, lighter dual valve springs, and valves, more extreme cam profile, more lift and overlap, low-friction coating on pistons, removed quench pads in the head for greater flow.
even though it doesn't come w/ cams and cam caps, needs to be bored .25 due to a scrach in cylinder 2
Heard someone said engine head is worthless w/o camcaps
Can't I just buy a set from Honda stealership or used ones?

Or should I just get the prefect gsr block w/ internals for $400
bolt my 99 Si B16A2 PR3-4 head and use the extra $300 for sth else?

i live about 4 hours north of you and know a few poeple with what they call the poor man type r. b16 head/gsr block. This is what i'd recommend. You won't be dissapointed like you said you'll have $300 extra for an accidents/roadblocks along the way in your build ;goodluck man.

thx for the positive feedback redef90si
I was planin on PMTR be4 since I hv a B16A2 in my EM1 already until I saw the $700 deal for real ITR B18C5
coz I believe ITR B18C5 is definately a better platform to start w/ compared to the PMTR if I can find a good deal right now.
just like how I ended up drivin a Si instead of a EX.
