Default gas is 10% ethanol... good bad???

well i know ethanol has a higher octane rating than normal gas, over 100 i think
more performance??
and the gas-station here in mobile is selling it for like 20cent less than regular gas
only like $4.05 (premium of course)
save money??
also know w/ e85 gotta have bigger injectors cuse takes more to burn like regular gas
but w only 10% would not make that big a difference

so does anyone see why this could be a bad idea?

10% is fairly common now, lowers emmisions a tad and such, but slightly lower mileage. E85 is 85% ethanol, and 15% gas. In Colorado we had to use 10% ethanol mixed into gas all winter since the early 90's, and it was fine for everyones cars, so they pretty much went to year round.

10% is fine, it says so in the owners manual. just make sure you don't use anything higher than 10% and stick with 91+ octane

well i just did some numbers...
and i save at most $2.40 when i fill up w e10 vs regular 93+ (@ $4.25)
and i lose $4.00 in mpg vs regular 93+ (w/ 3mpg drop)
so.... yeah
and from what i just read... no performance gained because such low % of ethanol
but in Alabama law says gotta say when adding ethanol
some states dont have to post it
so ill just pick my gas stations more carefully from now on
thanks for fast replys

i think it should be required on ALL pumps in ALL states

In MN, the only way to tell if it doesn't have ethanol is if it says "non-oxygenated" It's been a couple years since i've seen this sticker anywhere too. When the bp was still amoco, it was non oxygenated, but since changing to bp, the non-oxygenated sticker is gone

really irritates me trying to find good gas for the dirt bike, running a carb and 12:1 compression

I've never seen gas around here that wasn't 10% ethanol
