Do you mean how long does it take for gas to go bad? As long as its sealed good i believe gas can last up to a year or so before it turns bad.
Depending on where you live it could be shorter or longer lifespan. If your not sure put a gas addiative while you let it sit.

stuff like this works well if you are going to store it. I use it in the snow blower and lawn mower when I put them away for the season.
