im buying a set of DSM 450cc Injectors they are the blue top kind, im throwing them on my b16 i was wondering would they just plug and play or do i need the DSM Clips or would they just fit? thnkz h-tech

If your car is an obd1, it should drop right in. However, you need to wire up your resistor box. If you click on the search button, and click archived thread and type up resistor box under forced inductions, there should be countless threads about how to wire it up.

 

hmmm, I was under the impression i wouldnt' need a resistor box for obd1.

just picked up some evo injectors....OBD2 GSR running an OBD1 ecu in a 2000 sedan.....so i'll need a resistor box?

These are the cars that would require you to have a resistor box.

Not entirely correct. The requirement of a resistor box is based on what kind of injectors you have. If the injectors in question are saturated (saturated = high impedance)then you do not need a resistor box. If the injectors are peak and hold (low impedance) then you do need a resistor box. It has nothing to do with the chassis the engine is in. It is based on the injectors...........

For simplicity purposes assume impedance = resistance.

You can also find out what type of injector you have just by simply putting a dvm (digital muli-meter or ohmmeter or multi-meter) on it and measuring the resistance. "On it" meaning with the two leads connected to the two electrical inputs on the injector.

Saturated should be 10ohms - 16ohms
P&H should be 1.7ohms - 3ohms

PS - ALL of this can be found simply by reading the FAQ's up on the top of this forum. This has been covered MANY times..............

I'm assuming they knew that DSM's were low impedance, which would require a resistor box in the above chassis.

In that case you are absolutely correct.

Most likely low impedance. Just put a multi-meter on it and measure the resistance. Then you will know for sure........

 

i just spoke with a mitsu friend of mine and they're low impedance like the dsm 440's.
