My tranny has no vin Plate?
A lot of transmissions don't have VIN plates. If there is evidence of drilling/tampering where it was supposed to go, then it might be stolen, but all JDM transmissions and many US transmissions (up to 96 I think) don't have them at all.
Thank you for your guys help
Is there Any way I can tell what kind of tranny i have so I can order rebuild parts and A LSD Or will all S80 parts work together?

Yep!
My '99 Si tranny doesn't have a plate on it either - and they ref/BARed it in Cali with no problem!
The (pre-drilled) holes are there, but no plate was ever attached.
Sooo... don't worry it!
As far as ID'ing it goes - good luck!
AFAIK the only sure way is to take it apart and start counting teeth...

EJ8: That is completely wrong. All B hydro trannies have the same number of bolts. The bolt circle is a different size. LS/B16 share one pattern and GSR/Type R share another.
If you don't want to disassemble the trans, here is a somewhat simple way to tell:
1. Find a crappy old axle and just put the stub in the trans. If you don't have an axle, you can find a suitable sized wooden dowel or PVC pipe. To take up any slack, you can wrap some electrical tape around it so it can go in the splines just firm enough to turn and not fall out. Put the trans in each gear and rotate the input shaft. Look at a transmission chart that shows gear ratios. Take the gear you are in x final drive. That should be how many revolutions it will take on the input shaft for one revoloution of the output shaft. You will probably need to do this in all the gears to get a truly definitive answer.
Example: B16 trans 3rd gear is 1.458 and the final drive is 4.40. So, take 1.458x4.4. This equals 6.4152. So, in 3rd gear on a B16 trans, it should take almost 6 1/2 turns of the input shaft to get one revolution on the output shaft.

Its better safe then sorry about that VIN plate not being there... Yea, I went through the same thing but smog techs dont care anymore, they worry about you passing or not. And knowing how CA cops/sheriffs are, they will get you for it.
DRIVE SAFE!!
