F THE CHP. tranny help
i got pulled over by the chp.. they said the vin off my tranny was taken off and could be hot... my dads a fireman and i b.s with him for about a hour and he took off.. but he say just cuz that my car came be taken....
i bought the tranny off of another ht member a few years back...
what i wanna know the part where the vin is can i just remove it and put a like a ls or b16? the housing part.
my tranny is a itr with LSD.

Your dad is right. If you have parts that came from a stolen car you will be held accountable. Also if you take of the vin plate they will suspect that you stole it as well. That's why they're saying it could have been from a stolen car.

yes you can. just buy the bottom half of the case from honda. Keep the receipt. If you ever get pulled over you can say it was replaced because it "broke" so thats why there is no tag on it because it is brand new(and you now have the receipt to prove it)
Or just buy a broken JDm tranny. They dont have vin # holes

I thought it all depended on the year of the trans correct? Wasn't it the 96+ trans that had the VIN tags?

Please explain, cause I'm on the same boat as the OP, and The vin tag is missing on my gsr tranny. And I just realized that once I saw this post. You can't buy just the vin tag alone from the dealership can you or am I asking a stupid question?

yes they do, the holes just aren't threaded

Is there any more ways to obtain a vin tag for the tranny? I've seen plenty of threads with people noticing they have the vin tag's missing on their obdII transmissions.

i have the same problem guys... help please... anyone?... i want to BAR mine but there is no VIN... i know this is a legit block and tranny but there is just no way of proving it.... and is it true that pre-1996 acura/honda has no VIN plates on the block and tranny?
