Y5 block + Y8 Head - What kind of engine management?

Y5 block + Y8 Head - What kind of engine management?
My friend has a project car with the following parts:
90 CRX Si OBD0 ECU and all Wiring, dead original motor
Y5 block + Y8 Head completely assembled
The motor was running previously in a 98 EX, but the ECU did not make it over, and we dont know if it was converted to OBD1 or not.
VAFC
We're trying to find out the following info:
Can the 90 Si ECU + VAFC work?
Which Distributor is the right one?
What about the knock sensor?
If the OBD0+VAFC wont work, would an OBD1 Si ECU + VAFC work?
