Default Something new for the RC51

Carbon Fiber Airbox FTW!

It's about 7.5# lighter than the OEM airbox. I just need to figure out a decent air filter setup.

The fit is very tight but the carbon work is pretty rough with this particular box. It must be a very early model as the new ones look very good.

7+# weight reduction

I find it hard to imagine that your stock airbox was 7lbs heavier.

What is the added volume going to translate to in terms of power/throttle response?

To add to his question, will you have to have it tuned for the more air flow to make a big difference? Im saying you would..just wondering for later on with my RC..Also heard it doesn't make a big difference without exhaust (which u have i guess)..

The OEM lid weighs as much as the whole carbon piece.

Don't forget that the OEM box has weighted noise dampers, lids, acoustic chambers, and two filters.

Yes, Slid, I will be tuning it for this setup. Most of the guys on Speedzilla are posting 127+ wheel HP with the airbox, free mods, and slip-ons after tuning.

Damn thats a heavy box. I think my f3 airbox was around 4-5lbs with a filter, and the 929 box was pretty light once I removed the pair system. But I've never seen an RC airbox... regardless, congrats on the weight savings and added power
