What do you guys think? Discuss

http://passwordjdm.com/Passwor....aspx

I personally think this is the next best thing for us DC5 EP3 owners. I like the filter being in the front so there's air going directly to the filter, unlike the V2 with the filter sitting in the back. The numbers is put up look pretty good aswell.

it doesn't seem to perform to badly as far as the graphs show on the site, however personally i don't like the look of it, sure its carbon fiber, but from what i understood the whale ***** before it got heat soaked quickly and gains became negligible. Only way to find out how good it is, is for someone to buy it.....i wouldn't put it on my car though...my 2 cents. Im sure many would disagree. for innovation though.

im tempted to sell my new injen cai and try this... it says you need to relocate your battery but they also sell a relocation kit for this.

they ldidnt let heatsoak come into play. they cooled down the car after each run. so ill just wait for someone to buy it and dyno it.

Nice marketing for PasswordJDM to force people on buying the battery relocator from them at the same time.

Which is dumb because I was going to grab this up. Seeing how it would match my spoon coil cover perfectly, but i'm not going to go to that small battery. Not that great for a daily driver.

The filter is always going to be seeing hot air from behind the radiator - that can't be great. Also, air loses velocity every 7 degrees of travel - that has a 180 degree turn right off the bat, then the air has another 90 degree change in direction once it enters the intake plenum and turns to enter a runner. I'm not knocking the design, nor am I endorsing it, I'd expect a torque sacrifice for a few top end HP. Personally, I'm more about how much is under the curve, not just peak numbers. I'll be anxious to see a real world dyno. sheet.

heatsoak is my new favorite word! it sounds so technical! and so prevalent in this forum!

I'm not an expert in thermodynamics but I can tell you from experience, from working with a customer that custom made his own carbon fiber turbo ducts and plenums - carbon fiber 'heatsoak' will not be an issue. lol.
