ok so i drive a 2000 ej8 coupe. i had read post on the internet, ive read specs and build threads, and ive had people give me what they "think" is involved in doing a k series swap. i found a k20 type s motor for cheap, and im asking exactly how much work is in doing this swap. i want to KEEP a/c. and KEEP p/s. i know things such that hyrid racing offers an ac kit n all that but i want to know what kind of hell im gonna go through if i were to chose to go k series, and is it even worth it over lets say an ITR swap? money wise how many things am i going to HAVE to buy to make this work? and please, post helpful posts, not some smartass, "like OMG, it is like so like obvious brooo" post....anyway so anyone whoes done this swap lets here it, thanks!
the type r swap would be less expensive and easier but no where near the power as the type s swap. the k swap will run you anywhere from 5 to 8 grand dependng how much you pay for the motor. plus all the hours of the install. if you are up to the challenge and know what you r doing than i would go k series.
k swaps suck and you need a lot of extra **** to do it, we just did my buddies and you need stuff, like the charge harness, shifter box kit motor mount swap kit, fuel rail and regulator, have to run full lines, make you axles(cheapest way) a swap header, some type of intake, hondata k pro(or jdm ecu ,or ecu with the immobilizer removed) and that's just the main stuff there is a bunch of other little stuff that you dont know you need till it comes along, a swap that we thought was going to take a full weekend ended becoming a 2 week cluster [freak], could not get some parts, other on back order, basically just a big PITA
k20a.org (or com, cant remember), it has forums dedicated to swaping into the eg's,ej's ect. and has list of exactly everything you'll need and a lot of prices. It is a expensive and involved swap, but "doin work" is whats its all about

Yeah I wanna go for it but im nervous. Someone told me if you buy a complete swap all you need is the hasport mounts, hondata fuel system, and an ac kit from hybrid if I want ac. Any truth in this?
