Default 00 Civic, Sitting for a year

Been a while since I posted. The civic has been sitting in my driveway. No one has started it or done anything with it. To get to my question the hood release inside the car is broken, and I tried pulling the cable while lifting on the hood. I believe its rusted or just damaged. Do you guys have any tips to get this open? Thanks in advanced.

you used a pliers to pull on the cord right? you could try spraying some wd-40 on the latch and see if that helps at all, but it probably wont since the issue is in the cord.

free bump for you!

I used pliers and pulled on the cord, I haven't sprayed anything yet, I stuck a flat head screwdriver inbetween the hood and the grill and tried moving the lever and lifting the hood as well. Also took off the passenger side wheel but realized it didn't help to go from under the car.

you can yank the hood release cord through your bumper vents with some pliers.

Just take the whole latch off, Jack your car way up in the air from the front jack point and get it from underneath. Its two or three 10mm bolts.

You might even be able to use a long extension and stick it through the grill.

I wouldnt even mess with the cord.
