Gas.

$1000 bucks is like 6 or 7 months worth of gas. Assuming it doesn't go up dramatically.

Which it probably will.

intake and exhaust are good choices, but I think this car needs a drop, so I'd get the hfp suspension with some nice eibach or what prefer you, lowering springs. that way you have a great ride heght, no ugly wheel gap, and much better handling. thats about 1k

why would you go to a place called pro auto SOUND to get tint?

What do you want to do, looks, performance, handling, sound?

Mistakes happen. Who knows....maybe the guy who tinted your windows has been doing it for years and just happened to make a mistake that day. **** happens.

Never be so quick to judge a business merely on the fact that they just happened to screw up on YOUR car. Accidents happen.

I have to Disagree with that one, I just got two 10 kickers in my FA and the car stereo place I went to which specializes in "car stereos" did a shitty job from the first time I spoke with the guy on the phone. He first said he could "HOOK" me up with two 10 inch Rocker Fosgate with an amp installed for 330. Well anyway I get there like the guy said to do because this deal was only for friday right. I go and the dude went home for the day!!! Im already pissed and the guy says they dont have the damn speakers and he can sell me some other ones for like twice the price. I guess they thought I was stupid because everything the guy said to me was uber bullsh!t and way overpriced. Anyways, I didnt let them play me like a fool and long story short I got two 10 inch CVR Kickers and a Performance Technique Amp to power it for the original 330. I got a pretty good deal but that was only the half of the stuff they messed up. They gave me the car back and the side plastic was just put on and they didnt even attempt to fix it. They unplugged my Alarm, A fuse blew out which I know it prob wasnt there fault but it was setting my vsa off and were closing for the day so I had to drive back over there in the morn. they did an crappy job cutting the wires because I looked and they were only connected by a few strands. I took that **** back and when I got it back like an hour later everything seemed cool but I realized I cant lock my doors anymore with the lock button. Maybe another fuse but I didnt feel like looking since it was late when I realized it.

Just plain crappy, shysty service!!!!!

I would never recommend them but my FA is bumbing quite nicely even though I cant lock my doors

End Rant....

My vote is also for suspension... I picked up the HFP suspension for my car and I'm loving it to death. You could also check out one of the Mugen suspensions over at King Motorsports. You'll definitely want better tires, and a more aggressive alignment setup after that.

While I enjoyed reading your glorious rant... it still doesn't disprove what i just said. Especially since you had your experience with a different place.

If someone told me they could get me two subs and an amp and all the wiring to power it for 300 bucks, I would hang up in their face. And that slogan "specialize" doesn't mean crap. Its a retarded sales gimmick to get you in the door.

Word of advice....stay away from places that say they can "hook you up" because in the end you just end up getting what you pay for...which usually isn't much more than just a f**kin headache.

IM just saying that place sucked and I would never go back. I wasnt trying to discredit you, or trying to disprove you. I was just saying that I had a bad experience and by the lack of quality work all around, I would assume that they suck all the time if not more than half the time. And the point I was trying to make about them telling me they would hook me up was that I callled so I wouldnt have to drive over there and I would know what im getting and paying for. Them telling me a price, I expect to pay that price. Which is why I took 340$ out of the bank, I didnt take 340 out for them to tell me it was gonna be over 400$.

I may be young, but I know how business should work and it doesnt involve the run around in prices and crappy work all around. after I looked closer, they didnt even vacum up there mess. That goes to show you, even the easiest of work and they wont do it. They even broke my visor, why they broke it I dont know cause I know that wires dont go there.

I understand your point. However you're comparing a simple matter of burnt tint to your completely botched installation and over-charging from where you went.

Two very different things.

Kind of like comparing a rollover accident to a fender bender.

Get my drift?

Yea that sounds pretty shitty that they don't even take any pride in their work. Having a cheap install is one thing but not putting it together right shows they don't care. Sounds like my sub install from when I was in high school, they cut into the ignition harness on the steering column itself and refused to take responsibility for hte shoddy job. They're basically a "one time profit" job- once they get your money once, they don't care if you ever come back.

It pays to research though.

A local shop offered me 175 to tint my Clubman but I was pretty sure they've never tinted a Clubman before because it's brand new.

The MINI saleswoman recommended the place that they use to tint and he wanted 225. I went with the MINI-recommended tint shop because I figured he had more experience with teh dealership's MINIs.

That extra 50 bought me some security and quality work for sure- there were 5 Clubmans in the shop THAT DAY. The extra 50 bucks meant more experience and quality work, you cheap out, you risk crappy inexperienced work.

Don't let someone practice on YOUR CAR. You're paying for experience.

your paying for experience, true but i feel that if there is a lesser experienced guy under the supervision of a pro then its all gravy.

how else are they going to get good?

HFP suspension & sway bars (if they make them) would be the first mods I would do. If you have anything left, get some OEM style fog lights off ebay.

Lots of practice, yes, but you should have that professional there working alongside. Too many shops just hand jobs over to n00bs to learn. And too many shops are just friends who moved out of a home garage into a leased garage with no experience. That's when it pays to look for reviews on local forums

not to give a bad name to audio techs but ask any audio installer how much they get payed an hour. I bet you'll find that most can make more money doing some sort of labor. The fact is some of the people who you let work on your car are just lazy and don't give a sh*t and thier work shows it. I've seen it time and time again.

know the people who work on you car
